New vet clinic designed to make visits less stressful for pets + pet parents alike

, 14/05/2023

Pets are a corner stone in many of our lives. They offer us loyalty, companionship and love, and some millennials are even opting for pet ‘parenthood’ over having children of their own. The only downside to owning pets? Stressful vet visits.

Westshore Pet Clinic, a new, full-service veterinarian clinic in Langford, took stress and anxiety into account when designing their new clinic. They’ve taken extra care to make their office and exam rooms feel more like home with soft colors and a warm, inviting space where pets and their owners can relax.

Westshore Pet Clinic, family run and family focused.

Born and raised, the clinic is owned and operated by Vancouver Island, Dr. Martin Kleins. Becoming a veterinarian has been a life-long dream come true for Dr. Klein and he are excited to be serving the western community and their beloved family pets.

Dr. Klein has two young sons with his wife Lilia, 10-year old Alex and four-year-old Aiden. Alex and friend Grayson helped design the Westshore Pet Clinic’s logo, henceforth young Aiden helped his parents demonstrate the top-of-the line equipment for social media.

Dr. Klein and Lilia would like to say thank you to all of their staff, clients, friends and the Westshore community for making their first year a success. Westshore Pet Clinic is also currently looking to add more Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians to their team after a very busy first year in the Western communities. If you’re interested in applying, reach out at 778-557-5105 or [email protected] or find more information online here.

Brushing your pet’s teeth once a day can really help keep the vet at bay

Dr. Klein has performed over 1,000 dental surgeries since graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, so it’s safe to say he knows a little bit about pets and their oral health. Bacteria build up and infections in the mouth can get into your pet’s bloodstream and cause serious infections in their heart, liver, kidneys and lungs, but simply brushing their teeth can help prevent these serious complications.

“It may seem silly, but daily teeth brushing really makes a world of difference to your pet’s oral health.” Dr. Klein says. “Pets are really good at hiding their dental concerns but brushing their teeth once daily can help keep them clean and prevent complications. Even if your pet isn’t showing signs or symptoms of mouth trouble it’s always a good idea to have your vet check your pet’s oral health regularly to ensure any issues are caught early on.”

Westshore Pet Clinic is currently accepting new clients. Fine more information at westshorevet.ca or check out their Facebook and Instagram. Book appointments over the phone at 778-557-5105.
