There are over 3,500 species of snakes across the globe. One Regina enthusiast has managed to get his hands on one of the rarer reptiles.
Stephen Whitworth loves snakes, having kept the cold blooded companion at his home since the 1990’s.
“They learn to know who you are and to trust you and to interact with you and I certainly love my pets,” he told CTV News.
For Whitworth, it’s been a long term commitment.
“I’ve still got a snake that is turning 30 this fall,” he said.
“So some of them can live a really long time.”

Kaley Cuoco has announced the death of her dog, Dump Truck, saying the news has “deeply pierced my soul”.

BC Ferries is letting pet owners bring their dogs and cats to the outside upper decks of vessels along three routes this summer under its expanded pet pilot program.
Starting today, May 15, cats and dogs are allowed on select areas of outside upper decks on ferries traveling between Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay, Comox-Powell River and Earls Cove-Salery Bay.
Dogs must be on a one-metre leash, and cats must be in a travel carrier while on the outer decks.
To access the outer decks, pet owners must use designated stairwells and entrances that are marked by paw prints on the ground.…
SINGAPORE: This weekend, 77 cats, 25 dogs, four rabbits, three hamsters and one chinchilla underwent health checks as part of a program that lets low-income households receive veterinary care for their pets.
The initiative by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) was launched on Saturday (May 13) at Marsiling, where the first of 10 pet health screenings was held. The health screenings are fully subsidized and funded by donations from the public.

Rep. George Santos, RN.Y., pleaded not guilty in federal court Wednesday to 13 criminal counts, including wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds and making false statements to the House of Representatives.
Santos was arraigned in Central Islip, NY, after surrendering to federal authorities there earlier Wednesday afternoon. He was released on $500,000 bond, and his next court date was set for June 30.
