Forgiveness is itself a kind of window and, once opened, can release a lot of the things we are really better off letting fly into the…

As communities in BC prepare to mark Canada Day with festivities and fireworks, animal advocates are reminding the public to be mindful of the impact on animals.

Author and animal communicator Joan Ranquet says a technique based on Chinese medicine can help pets deal with emotional stress.
Ranquet said that animals can have emotional responses just like humans.
“We don’t necessarily recognize it because they’re excellent at masking,” she told CTV News.
“Moving into a new house, getting a new boyfriend or girlfriend, divorce, even bringing in a roommate, bringing in another animal, all of these things definitely can contribute,” Ranquet said.
Some of the signs to watch for, according to Ranquet, include a variety of unwanted behaviors.
“If they start digging or even licking their paws,…
More people than ever are turning to Feeding Windsor-Essex’s pet food bank as inflation hits grocery bills hard for humans and pet food. And local organizations say the number of people who’ve had to surrender their pets because of rising costs has more than doubled in the last three years.

“They don’t care about themselves, they care about the animals.”
The pet food bank first started about five…
