Lambton Public Health said pets, over three months old, must be restrained and in good health while at one of the clinics. One person and a pet died after a fire in Oakville on Saturday evening. Crews were called to a townhouse on the Sixth Line, south of Upper Middle Road, just before 6:30 pm When they arrived, the firefighters were met with heavy fire and smoke. “Through a fast attack, our crews were able to contain the fire to the unit of origin,” Oakville Fire Chief Paul Boissonneault said in an email to CP24. Parks Canada urgently not dump unwanted pets at Rouge Park

Parks Canada is raising concerns about a “three-fold increase” in instances of unwanted animals being dumped at Rouge Park. Late last week, Rouge National Urban Park posted a tweet urging people to not dump unwanted dogs and cats at the 80-square kilometer green space, which runs from Lake Ontario to the Oak Ridges Moraine along the Scarborough-Pickering border. “Releasing pets into nature seldom has a happy ending.
