Pamela Saddler with Broken Promises Rescue says she has been in animal rescue since 1996 and has never seen this many animals in need.
“We just have an overabundance of calls for help we’re getting every day, I’m getting a request for people with stray animals or animals needing help, and I’ve been doing the best I can and taking in who I can, ” Saddler told CHEK News Thursday.

Nearly all pet owners, 97 percent to be exact, say their pets are part of their family, according to a new survey by the Pew Research Center.
And more than half — 51 percent — even consider their animals as much a part of the family as their human relatives.

Site work begins for CRS ambulance substation in Maugansville
Ground was broken last Wednesday for Community Rescue Service’s Maugansville substation off Maugans Avenue.
“It’s a great move forward. It’s been a long time coming,” Deputy Chief Robert Buck said.
