Lorain Police release bodycam of family’s pet dog shot and killed by officer

LORAIN, Ohio (WOIO) – A family’s pet lab mix was gunned down in their neighbor’s driveway over the Fourth of July weekend. The 3-year-old lab mix named Dixie was shot and killed by a Lorain Police officer on July 2. Free wellness checks for pets will be offered in St. Catharines

Pet parents will be allowed to bring their dogs and cats in for a free wellness check in St. Catharines. The Niagara SPCA Mobile Wellness Unit will be offering health checks at Pet Valu locations over the next few weeks. Registered Veterinary Technicians and staff from the SPCA will be on hand to talk about nutrition, flea and tick solutions and other pet health concerns. A friendship struck years earlier between a Kelowna man and an abandoned dog has paved the way for a record-breaking donation that will change countless animal lives in the days to come.
