Protect your pets and save some cash with the BluePaw program in Brampton

, 22/04/2023

Pet owners in Brampton can get some savings at local businesses and help keep their furry friends safe through the City’s BluePaw program.

The City has partnered with local businesses to give discounts to responsible pet owners and help promote pet licensing in Brampton. All dogs and cats in Brampton must be registered each year under the City’s animal control bylaws, and the BluePaw program offers special discounts to Brampton residents who license their pets.

“When pets go missing, a license is the best way to help get them home safely…Our BluePaw business members understand the importance of licensing and want to help us thank these responsible pet owners,” the City said in a release.

There are currently 10 Brampton businesses registered for the BluePaw program:

  • Ren’s Pets
  • Bark Busters Brampton
  • Wild Fish Aquarium
  • Trizane Dog Services
  • Dog Hospital of Brampton
  • Cat Hospital of Brampton
  • Bitu’s Pet Services- K9 Aquafitness and Pet Grooming
  • Animal CareClinic
  • Gates Wildlife Control
  • Donich Law Professional Corporation

When pet owners license dogs or cats with the City they receive a tag which can be used to redeem discounts at participating businesses.

Pet licensing helps ensure your furry friends get returned home safely if they go missing or run away. The money collected from pet licenses also helps the Brampton Animal Shelter care for animals that are brought to the shelter.

Rates for licensing cats range from $5.00 to $20, and up to $40 for some dogs.

Pet licensing can be done online, in person, by phone, or through the mail. For full pricing and more details visit www.brampton.ca/animalservices.

Businesses interested in participating in the BluePaw program can contact Brampton Animal Services by email at [email protected] or 905-458-5800.
