Pets & Animals: Get fit and save animals this summer

, 29/05/2023

Get fit and help save animals this summer by participating in the Ontario SPCA Sudbury & District’s Sweat for Pets fundraiser.

The event challenges participants to set personal fitness goals and raise funds to change the lives of animals in the community.

“In celebration of the Ontario SPCA’s 150th anniversary, participants are encouraged to set a personal goal that incorporates 150,” the group said in a news release. “You could ride 150 kilometers on your bike over two weeks, run 150 kilometers in a month, create a team and do a combined 150 workouts – whatever inspires you.”

Once you’ve decided on your personal fitness goal, you can register for the fundraiser by visiting SweatForPets.ca and then asking your friends, family and neighbors to pledge their support by donating to your fundraising page.

“Sweat for Pets is all about getting active and raising funds to help animals that need our support,” said Leah Earl, manager of the Ontario SPCA Sudbury & District Animal Centre. “You’ll be doing something good for your health, for the animals, and for your community.”

Funds raised through Sweat for Pets provide care and shelter to give animals a second chance.
