Salem Veterinarian charged with DUII after crash injured 1

A Salem veterinarian has been charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants and attempting to elude a police officer following a collision Saturday that left a pedestrian seriously injured. Dr. Eric Raymond Webb, a small-animal vet at The Pet Clinic, was also charged with second-degree assault, failing to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons, and driving while suspended, according to court documents. The 26-year-old female pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Salem Hospital. She later was transferred to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. Drug slows Alzheimer’s by 35%, bolstering treatment

CHICAGO (Reuters) -An experimental Alzheimer’s drug developed by Eli Lilly and Co slowed cognitive decline by 35% in a late-stage trial, the company said on Wednesday, providing what experts say is the strongest evidence yet that removing sticky amyloid plaques from the brain benefits patients with the fatal disease. Lilly’s drug, donanemab, met all goals of the trial, the company said.
