2 Dead Humpback Whales Seen Floating Off the Coast of New York

Two dead humpback whales have been spotted floating in waters not far from New York City, the federal authorities said on Thursday, in another worrying sign for a species that faces a number of threats. The sightings were reported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, a New Jersey nonprofit that helps whales and other animals in distress. Neither group respondent immediately to overnight requests for comments. Two startups help animals regain their lost mobility

The company manufactures innovative artificial limbs for animals with disabilities or mobility problems. Two small Greek companies are helping to provide solutions for animals with serious mobility issues. The more technologically advanced of the two, bio3dvet, designs and produces artificial limbs, some on 3D printers. A collaboration between engineers and veterinarians, it was founded in 2018 by Haris Kolios in the northwestern city of Ioannina. A few weeks ago I moved my two little colonies in nuc boxes to a new location closer to home. I’d never had to move bees before, so asked other beekeepers for tips beforehand and as luck would have it the BBKA News that landed through my door that day had an article all about moving bees.
