PET formulates strategy to become “world class green terminal”

Tanjung Uban PLB in the future can be utilized for the ‘Supplier Held Stock’ (SHS) program which so far has mostly been carried out in Singapore.

Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Pertamina Energy Terminal (PET) is devising a strategy to realize its aspirations to become a “world class green terminal”, including the operation of the Tanjung Uban Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) which has been running since July 2022 and has received its first cargo as of August 2022.

“In the future, the Tanjung Uban PLB can be used for the ‘Supplier Held Stock’ (SHS) program, which so far has mostly been carried out in Singapore,” PET Director Hari Purnomo said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Previously, PET was a transformation and “rebranding” of PT Peteka Karya Tirta. This step was taken in line with changes in the company’s “core business” which is now entrusted with managing strategic terminals to be developed into “world class green terminals”.

Hari explained the purpose of the transformation, including to strengthen the company’s “positioning” and “brand image” in both “captive markets” and “non-captive markets”.

“Apart from that, it is also for the benefit of expansion and competition in the domestic and international markets, as well as increasing product diversification that is currently being managed,” he said.

The transformation and “rebranding”, he continued, are also expected to add new enthusiasm to the company’s progress with the theme “energizing new chapter”.

In addition, a number of breakthroughs were also made with digitization, including the implementation of a “fully automated system”, “pigging system”, and “metering system” to support the reliability and speed of service facilities.

“Furthermore, there is also the use of clean energy technologies such as PLTS in all PET’s operations and building the first “Ship Loading Vapor Recovery Unit” (VRU) in Indonesia,” said Hari.

PET is a subsidiary of “Sub Holding Integrated Marine Logistics” (SH IML) PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS). On August 27, 2021, along with the transformation of PIS into SH IML, PET was entrusted with managing strategic energy terminals namely the Tanjung Uban Integrated Terminal, Sambu Island Fuel Terminal, Kotabaru Fuel Terminal, Baubau Fuel Terminal, Tanjung Sekong LPG Terminal, and Tuban Terminal LPG which are currently being developed. in the development process.

Meanwhile, PIS CEO Yoki Firnandi appreciated the transformation and “rebranding” carried out by PET. He said that PET as part of SH IML has a big task in responding to business challenges and also optimizing business opportunities to achieve the company’s vision.

“PIS always supports PET to continue to grow both organically and inorganically, to develop strategic terminals. Once again I congratulate PET, together we will undergo the SH IML transformation which we hope will make PET grow even bigger and be able to support the achievement SH IML profitability in the future,” said Yoki.
